50 Facts That Show How Far America Has Fallen In This Generation

50 Facts That Show How Far America Has Fallen In This Generation By Michael Snyder, on September 18th, 2014

According to a survey that was just conducted, only 36 percent of all Americans can name the three branches of government.
#2 Only 25 percent of all Americans know how long U.S. Senators are elected for (6 years), and only 20 percent of all Americans know how many U.S. senators there are.
#3 Even if you include same-sex couples in the numbers, the marriage rate in the United States is at a 93 year low.
#4 For the first time ever, single Americans make up more than half the U.S. population.
#5 31.1 percent of American young adults in the 18 to 34-year-old age bracket are currently living with their parents.
#6 One out of every ten teen girls in America engages in “self-harm”.  Cutting and burning are the most common forms that this “self-harm” takes.
#7 One survey found that 85 percent of all young men in America and almost half of all young women in America watch porn at least once a month.
#8 A different survey discovered that 64 percent of American men of all ages view pornography at least once per month.
#9 The Internet can be used for great good, but it can also be used for great evil.  It is being reported that 83 percent of U.S. boys and 57 percent of U.S. girls have been exposed to group sex while on the Internet.
#10 One survey discovered that 25 percent of all employees that have Internet access in the United States visit sex websites while they are at work.
#11 There is an epidemic of porn watching among federal employees.  For example, one Treasury Department worker said that he viewed 13,000 pornographic images within the span of six weeks because he did “not have enough work to do“.
#12 An astounding 30 percent of all Internet traffic now goes to adult websites.
#13 Right now, 30 million Americans are on antidepressants.
#14 Americans account for about five percent of the global population, but we buy more than 50 percent of the pharmaceutical drugs.
#15 Americans consume a whopping 80 percent of all prescription painkillers.
#16 According to a study conducted by the Mayo Clinic, nearly 70 percent of all Americans are on at least one prescription drug, and 20 percent of all Americans are on at least five prescription drugs.
#17 Approximately 60 million Americans have a problem with alcohol addiction.
#18 Heroin traffic in New York City is at a 20 year high.
#19 Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the most obese.  Mexico is #2.
#20 Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese, but it is being projected that 42 percent of all Americans could be obese by the year 2030.
#21 70 percent of Americans do not “feel engaged or inspired at their jobs”.
#22 40 percent of all workers in the United States actually make less than what a full-time minimum wage worker made back in 1968 after you account for inflation.
#23 Small business ownership in the United States is at the lowest level that has ever been recorded.
#24 It is hard to believe, but 56 percent of all Americans now have “subprime credit”.
#25 The United States has the most lawyers per capita in the entire world.
#26 The United States has the highest incarceration rate and the largesttotal prison population in the entire world by a wide margin.

#29 According to one absolutely shocking study, 22 military veterans kill themselves in the United States every single day.
#30 The top Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives is Nancy Pelosi.  The top Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives is John Boehner.  More often than not, they seem to be working together.  Is this really the best that America can do?

LET THE JUDGES DO THEIR JOB: Sentencing guidelines put too many low value non-violent offenders in prison in place of kingpins and mob bosses.

LET THE JUDGES DO THEIR JOB: Sentencing guidelines put too many low value non-violent offenders in prison in place of kingpins and mob bosses.

Ironically, most  sentencing guidelines are created by the same hypocritical politicians who toe-tap in the bathrooms looking for sex, have kids with the maid, have gay lovers on the down-low, take millions as "consultants", use campaign funds to keep their lovers while their wife is dying of cancer, lie about getting shot at by snipers, drowned a student and failed to report the accident, get convicted of possession of cocaine, go to jail for wire fraud, conspiracy, extortion, racketeering, money laundering and making false statements to insurance regulators, get busted destroying evidence and tampering with witness testimony, send sexually suggestive photos of themselves to strangers, get caught on surveillance cameras deeply kissing married staffers, et al.

Vetiges of the Eighties and Nineties amid rising crime and racially coded political fearmongering, mandatory penalties — like minimum sentences triggered by drug weight, automatic sentencing enhancements, and three-strikes laws — have flooded state and federal prisons with nonviolent offenders. Intended to ensure uniform discipline, these policies simply shifted discretion to prosecutors. Judges lost latitude to tailor sanctions based on whether someone was a kingpin or courier.

By linking punishment to drug weight, mandatory minimums often distort culpability; consider that a hired hand unloading contraband from the back of a truck may handle more drugs than the cartel leader who arranged the shipment. Forty percent of drug defendants in the federal system were couriers or street dealers.

It's clear that federal sentences are still out of whack. Interviews with prosecutors and defense attorneys, for example, reveal that inconsistencies in application of mandatory minimum penalties exist between districts, and often within districts, where individual prosecutors exercise their discretion differently. In part, these differences may have developed to avoid the overly severe consequences that result from certain mandatory minimum penalties applying in individual cases. prosecutors are exercising the discretion that once belonged to judges, effectively determining offenders' sentences by deciding how to charge them.

Politics and money are too influential in the outcome; Robert H. Richards IV was convicted of rape, the wealthy heir to the du Pont family fortune was spared prison for raping his toddler daughter, the Delaware court in 2009 said he would "not fare well" behind bars and Samuel Curtis “S. C.” Johnson III, a 59-year-old billionaire heir to the S. C. Johnson & Sons (formerly Johnson’s Wax) fortune, who confessed to repeatedly sexually assaulting his teenage stepdaughter, received only four months prison sentence. While a Florida circuit court sentenced Daniel Enrique Guevara Vilca, a stockroom clerk whose home computer contained a cache of child pornography but never made contact with a human victim, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

It's not about just keeping the jails full, it's a bout real justice and fitting punishments to match the crime.

There was a time when dangerous mentally ill were put in institutions that were like prisons. There were many horrible abuses and policy changed. But have we come too far in the other direction? Do the mentally ill's right's supersede the general public's right to safety.

All of these killers had known mental health issues but were allowed to live amongst the population. Not all used guns to kill.

It only takes 2 seconds to be late on reacting to an attack. Most times that means you lose and will probably die.

A cop is killed on the job every 36 hours.

If you are approached and start to act stupid you become a candidate for deadly force.

This is what cops get for being caught by surprise or late on the draw.

These are just four incidents of the many documented cop killings. So just know that you are playing a high stakes games with you decided to resist or do something stupid. They can't afford to give you the benefit of doubt. They are afraid and ready for whatever may come.

  1. Tirar las manos o resistir
  2. Gritar "¡No me toques!"
  3. Huir
